One of Switzerland’s’ leading health insurance provider, Atupri Health Insurance, has started accepting Bitcoin tokens as payments methods for its policyholders.
Atupri made an announcement saying that it is now offering Bitcoin and Ethereum payments for the 200,000 customers. The Bern-based insurance provider has partnered with Bitcoin Suisse in order to accept the cryptocurrency payments. As per the announcement, the company will not be holding cryptocurrency itself but will be accepting crypto payments with Bitcoin Suisse acting as a gateway to exchange the Bitcoin or Ethereum for Swiss francs.
Armin Schmid, head of Bitcoin Suisse Crypto Payments, is eager about the new partnership, noting that it will be above board with regulations and legalities:
“We are pleased about the partnership with Atupri and guarantee secure and uncomplicated payment options with crypto currencies. As a regulated Swiss financial intermediary, Bitcoin Suisse complies with the legal requirements for payment transactions.”
The convenience of payment choice
The additional method of payment offers Atupri customers the benefit of more convenience. The company associates itself as a digital mover in the industry, and this shift could stand as one of the pioneering moves towards Bitcoin adoption.
